Why can’t I eat my favorite foods anymore? What are all these mysterious rashes on my body? Where did all of my energy go? The symptoms keep piling up and no one can tell me why!

This is the story of how I became a functional nutrition practitioner when I had to take my health into my own hands. For years, I struggled with undiagnosed Crohn’s disease and Lyme disease with digestive stress, countless food sensitivities, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and skin issues. I know how frustrating it is to feel like your body is working against you instead of for you, confused by what’s happening and unsure where to even start. Doctors would tell me they had no explanation, hand me a prescription that didn’t even help, and send me on my way with nothing but more questions. I was tired of being dismissed and in pain, so I started researching on my own, and that’s how I found functional medicine.

Through functional medicine, I finally found a practitioner who wanted to help me understand my body and my symptoms. I began to feel safe and I felt hopeful because I was talking to someone who understood the complexity and toll chronic symptoms have on the body. There were no band-aid approaches. Addressing the root causes of my health issues was the first time I experienced drastic changes and relief in my conditions.

Discovering functional health and nutrition completely changed my life, which led me to pursue this career in order to help others heal through clarity and personalized support. I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in health services and become a Certified Nutritional Practitioner so I could turn what I learned through my own healing into real, credentialed support for others. Through my healing journey, I fell in love with food again and nourishing myself properly after overcoming years of fear due to my digestive symptoms. The idea of a life where my profession could help others heal was my true calling.

I learned that people have the ability to heal when they get the right personalized support. I strive to be the health professional for others that I wish I had sooner – one that facilitates trust, validation, empathy – where nutrition and lifestyle are actually part of the conversation.

I’m so excited to be part of the Eterna team. Dr. Gemechisa and Dr. Pines‘ approach health and care in a way that feels deeply aligned with everything I believe: your body is always working for you, not against you. My approach blends personalized nutrition with a whole-person perspective, going beyond a one-size-fits-all plan to help clients build real, lasting change. I know how much it means to finally have a plan built around YOUR labs and YOUR goals.

I believe food is medicine. The right foods for YOUR body can do more to help you heal than you might expect. I help you translate your labs and doctor’s plan into nutrition and lifestyle choices that actually fit your life. Together we build a way of eating that feels sustainable, not like one more thing to keep up with. In a world full of noise about health and diets, I want Eterna to feel like a break from all of that – where nutrition is never about restriction or a checklist, but about finding the healthiest and happiest version of you.

My promise to you is simple: every client is treated with respect and real commitment. YOU will be heard, YOU will be supported, and YOU will never have to figure out your nutrition and your health alone.

Be well,

Audrey Perry
